Chloe Resort 2012 - 70s Classics

The classic pieces that Chloe has been known for has been re-introduced for the resort season. The 70s vibe that the brand is so well known for has been brought back in full force. Wide-leg pantsuits, chambray fabrics, and flow-y dresses have all been included and re-worked for that classic Chloe look. It has been awhile since I have even liked the Chloe collections but this time it seemed worthwhile to take a second look. I was excited to see the design team (which excluded a Creative Director this time around) successfully bring the brand's past forward (for the better).

I love the coral suit that is the first look shown below. The coral will be a fun color to play with as we transition into spring. I also really like the touches of fresh green dresses and cardigans as well. Light colored leather jackets are also big for this season as well (the light camel/buttercream jacket is to die for). Free, fun, simple, and chic are words that make Chloe a memorable brand and I hope the new Creative Director will move this ideology forward.

Chanel Resort 2012 - Billion Dollar Babes

There is something so eloquently pure and beautiful about Chanel's resort collections. The pastel colors and fresh summer creams takes my mind away from the coldness of winter - even for a split second. Pastel colors in purples, yellows, pinks, and greens are softer alternatives to the neon brights that have been blown out of proportion on the spring runways. It is apparent that women will be looking for a statement color this spring - yet these colors here are more subdued for the woman who is drawn to neutrality. I adore the touches of black in the collection that serves to compliment the classic creams that Chanel is so well known for. My favorite look of the collection is the multi floral print asymmetrical dress that is shown below - it looks like a full on Claude Monet painting! Absolutely stunning...

Gucci Resort 2012 - Gold Rush

If your the kind of girl like myself who has an obsession with classic black and white motifs, then you will be excited to add a fresh touch of gold to the mix. The resort collection for Gucci still had a "flashy" vibe it is so well-known for - but in a more wearable fashion. Finally a Gucci I can relate to...

Why not invest in a lush golden novelty jacket this spring to spice up your white blouse and black skirts? A gold blouse will also come in handy when transforming your office suit into an appropriate evening outfit. It is amazing how simply tweaking a shirt or a lip shade can totally transform your look. That gold hue will can also add brilliant compliments to khaki and army green shades. A hint of red still persists to be a vital color for the pre-spring season - adding that extra pizazz all year round.

Milly Resort 2012 - Garden Party Frocks

Leave it to Milly to come up with a whimsical and uplifting collection for the upcoming resort season. Michelle's inspiration has yet again stemmed from her muse fascination  (Picasso and Marie more specifically). She is constantly thinking of ways in which her colorful and ladylike customer will choose to dress. While vibrant colors, a-line dresses, striped cardi's, and floral print blouses are nothing new to the brand - the allure of the woman in the clothes and what they represent will continue to add positive marks to the brand's bottom line. A colorful printed dress or two along with a sorbet striped cardigan will serve to be great additions to a woman's well-acquainted wardrobe.

Donna Karen Pre-Fall - Earthy Everyday Wear

The allure of Donna Karen's pre-fall show was the wearability of the clothes in earthy tones. Army greens and desert browns are colors that haven't been the norm to the season's winter brights - but are still classic colors to wear all year round for those understated types. Nothing beats an outfit pulled together like a brown leather jacket. The moss green jersey dresses serve to be great basics to work with during the transitionary season. Donna's long and sexy pencil skirts and loose shirt combinations serve to be great looks to wear to work.

Thakoon Pre-Fall 2011 - Smart Utilitarian Dressing

Pre-Fall for Thakoon was somewhat out of character for Thakoon. Playing on simple, yet luxurious shapes, in colors of black, white, grey, and pinches of red and yellow. The collection had a lot of power dressing to offer those woman who look forward to dressing differently everyday. Skinny narrow pants paired with a long double-breasted jacket is a a great idea for everyday trendy workwear. I also really loved the use of grey tweed-like fabric on the dress with a cinched waist. Utilitarian jackets with an array of pockets and exquisite structure had the right amount of fashion for a a cold walk in the city.

Fendi Pre-Fall 2011 - Knack for Color

Playing around and mixing different bold colors seems to be a trend for a season that is typically prone to be very dark and understated. The beautiful colors in Fendi's pre-fall collection gives the vibrant woman shopper a lot to choose from...All sealed with a slab of beautiful red lipstick to complete the ultra-feminine look.

The colors that I found most intriguing in this collection was the sapphire blues, dark reds, and bottled greens. It appears that the consumer shouldn't be afraid to use her color of choice, when paired with the season's appropriate fabrications and layers. The three-quarter length stretch knit dress is also a popular piece this season - it wears easy, is super comfortable, and not to mention is super sexy.
