Michael Kors Spring 2011 - Comfortable American Sportswear 5.0

The Michael Kors name continues to be an American household name that consistently delivers "easy" dressing for the jet-setting man and woman - appearing to the more wearable and comfortable as opposed to the extravagant and trendy. For me, Kors does not fall a victim to the fashion-y trends of the moment. Sure the maxi dresses, bright colors, and copious amount of white was ever apparent in this collection (let's face it, it always is for spring). Yet, the collection managed to make the Kor's simplicity as exuberant as ever.

"Comfort" and "easy" continues to be the two words that come to mind as I look through this collection. The clothes are free flowing and not meant to hug the curves. The belts are the subtle pieces that are included to create shape. Shirts are left loose and untucked. The pants and skirts are all free flowing. Bold color also makes a statement in the form of tank dresses, skirts, and trousers.

The play on neutrality and color is nothing new to the Michael Kors brand. I enjoyed every pop of color. The length of the dresses hit the floor and the skirts hit mid-calf. The superfluous use of white and khaki looks amazing with the bright color blocking. The embellished skirts and printed dresses added the additional "wow" factor. Basic shirts and crisp blazers were great additional layering pieces for this collection.

These beautiful jade trousers is such a standout piece to this outfit. The cross-body bag creates a more casual vibe.

Mustard is an amazing color to wear with a stellar tan. The cuillo accessories add a nice combination.

I am all about the mid-calf length - especially when it comes to form fitting skirts. The texture of the skirt paired with a mercerized cotton tank makes the look less ordinary.

I really loved the combination of aqua and jade in this outfit - texture, again, makes for a nice touch.

So many women these days are looking to hide their arms, which is why I really like this breathable sweater.

Pairing masculine pieces with feminine is always a creative way to dress everyday.

The spring trench is an obvious stable this season - they are simply all over the spring shows. The sheer light grey dress is to die for - so sexy.

Shirt dressing will always be a classic and easy way to dress for the spring and summer months. It is one staple piece that can make a woman look so put together.

If you don't feel like wearing a full on blazer in the hot months, a tailored vest is a great alternative. The vest can be worn so many different ways as well.

This vibrant hot pink dress looked so great on the cover of Cosmo this April. Again, I love the simplicity and easy movement of this dress in bold colored form.

Jade green is one of the best colors shown this season on the runways (in addition to pink, blue, and red) I especially love the matching dark brown accessories.

This is a fun way to wear colorful prints this summer. The shade of purple is amazing!

I love the look and feel of monochromatic sweater dressing.

I love the idea of wearing a sheer black cover-up over your bathing suits this summer. It is a great alternative to white.
